I moved to Calgary from Ontario in 1979 after studying History at the University of Waterloo and Museology at the University of Toronto. After two years at Glenbow Museum, I managed the development of the Energeum visitor centre which opened in 1983. This position would lead to a 30-year career in senior communications roles in Alberta’s energy sector. In 2015 I retired and moved to Pender just as my in-laws had done 35 years earlier. Joining the museum board has been a satisfying return to my roots. I’m an avid birder and when not volunteering for the museum or the Pender Islands Health Centre, my husband and I enjoy travelling to places where we can experience both human and natural history.
